Telephone Business Development Manager – London – Perm
Nicholas Howard are delighted to be recruiting for a Telephone Business Development Manager.
As a Telephone Business Development Manager, you’ll drive new lending opportunities through proactive outreach, broker liaison and sales support.
A telephone-based role focused on originating new lending opportunities through events and key distribution relationships.
The role involves providing telephone and email-based sales support, liaising with brokers on new enquiries, handling inbound sales administration requests, and supporting the wider Networks strategy nationally.
Key Accountabilities:
- Working collaboratively to follow up leads, register new brokers, and introduce distribution partners to the company’s mortgage offering.
- Supporting the Club & Network registration and completion targets.
- Arranging meetings with Club & Network brokers for Field-Based and Telephone-Based BDMs.
- Speaking to introducers and handling new business enquiries.
- Providing ad-hoc support to sales regions where volumes are high.
- Offering sales support to the Head of Internal Sales – including holiday cover, overflow management, and terms chasing when required.
- Ensuring all communications and activities are accurately logged and up to date in the CRM system.
- Producing timely and accurate terms from initial enquiries.
- Contacting potential new brokers to generate introductory business.
- Supporting the field sales team with diary management.
- Guiding intermediaries through the application process to ensure a positive experience.
- Sharing responsibility for identifying, generating, and managing relationships with intermediaries.
- Opening new opportunities and maintaining strong relationships over the medium term.
- Complying with the company’s TCF and Responsible Lending policies.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of the company’s mortgage criteria.
- Liaising with internal departments and external parties.
- Attending inter-departmental meetings.
Skills & Competencies:
- Telesales experience preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proactive and able to work on your own initiative.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Able to work to deadlines.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Experience of mortgage lending / underwriting.
- CeMap qualified would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Some knowledge of FCA Regulation beneficial but not essential.
- Experienced in use of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
